Relaxing Night

I was away at the weekend and am now back in the old routine, well almost, I am not in the PO until tomorrow and with the missus out I caught up on some telly and completed my two new Bolt Action purchases. The first is of course my Sdkfz 7/1, I added various items of stowage and a discarded Zeltbahn to the frame, I am looking forward to trying out this bad boy.

The Churchill although typically in drab Allied colours is nonetheless a beast of a tank, both my other 'tanks' have camo etc. so I am leaving this one bereft of such stuff, again most photos show them, like the Panthers, without a lot of clutter on them. I do still have to paint the commander, but he will have to wait until tomorrow, then both will get a spray of varnish and hey presto, ready for action.

Not long to go now for Bolt Action 2.0, maybe a week, I have seen a video showing some of the changes and they look like improvements to me, so I am looking forward to having it dropped through the letterbox.

As I said above I was away at the weekend for a Clan gathering, if you can call fifteen adults and three weans a gathering, we were in a large rambling house on the edge of Coniston Water where Donald Campbell attempted to beat his own world speed record and tragically died in the process. I won't bore you with all the family stuff, suffice it to say it was a great three days of banter, laughter, singing, drinking and eating.

Did I look like that in the '70's?

  1. Other than the beard, you pretty much look like that now! Are you wearing the famous Scottish undergarments????

  2. That's a mean looking piece of flak, nicely done too. In V2 it may actually be effective in its primary role now as well.Gotta love the old Churchill a handsome tank in an ugly looking way.

    1. I am at the stage now where if I add anything else to the armies it will be because I like it rather than need it. I would have liked the Pz38(t) Flak as 2nd Panzer had them but no one does a model at the moment. It had to be a Churchill, I am trying to keep away from Shermans. Thanks Phil.
